Like crumbling ruins of an ancient roman coliseum, the tattered and worn pages of a comic book provide insight into the culture of a bygone era. The title of this comic goes a long way towards describing how much things have changed, at least linguistically, since its publication in February 1947.
One thing that never changes however is male and female relationships. Here our beauty pageant judge Flicker is under some intense pressure from Tessie and Millie (two of Marvel Comics working gal characters) to make the “right” decision.
The theme of choosing the “right one” is replicated on the covers of not just #26* (shown here) but #25,#27,#28 and #29 as well.
